Debra “Debi” Kay Lewis, 55 of Ozark, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 26, 2014. She was born in Independence, Missouri in 1958 to John Richardson and Nancy Stricklin. Debi graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1976 and married the love of her life, Lynn Lewis, on August 9, 1980.
Debi was the epitome of selfless love, always putting others before herself. She never met a stranger and was always full of hugs and asking “Did I get a hug from you yet?” Even in her last days as her health was failing she was more concerned about her loved ones than herself. When asked what she wanted to pray for she asked for comfort for her family with no mention of comfort for herself. She raised her three children through the guidance of Christ and taught them to live for the Lord. Debi was known for many things but her marriage to Lynn was the most extraordinary. The love they shared was palpable to those in their presence and will always stand as a true example of endless love and devotion. While Debi will be sorely missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she fought bravely and won the ultimate prize: being whole again in Heaven.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Lynn Lewis and her precious grandson Parker Greene; children Mandy Greene, Daniel Greene, Matthew Lewis, and Mitchell Lewis; parents John Richardson, Nancy Stricklin, and Dottie Lewis; and siblings Michelle Richardson and John Richardson.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 31st at 6:00 p.m. and Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 1st 2:00 p.m., both at River Bluff Baptist Church, 2655 E Farm Road 188, Ozark, MO 65721. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The Ronald McDonald House in memory of Debi Lewis at 949 E. Primrose, Springfield, MO 65807.
