Delbert R. Bucher, 101, of Springfield, MO came to journeys end Aug. 26, 2013 at 10:57 p.m. to be with Jesus.
He was born to Eli and Clara Bucher of California, MO on Aug. 7, 1912. There were five sisters and a twin brother and a daughter, Darlene Rankin Davis who preceded him in death.
He became a Christian as a young man and received a call to the Ministry, then attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO and graduated in 1939. He was an Assembly of God minister and did Evangelistic work for 9 years. In 1944 he married Beatrice L. Best who was also a Minister. In 1945 they took their first Pastorate in Jackson, MI. In his pastorate there he became Sectional Youth Leader for 3 years. In 1953 the Bucher’s were called to Kenosha, WI to pastor First Assembly of God and were there approximately 5 years then came to St. Louis, MO to Bethel Temple, where they moved the congregation 10 miles into the county and built a new church. In 1987 Rev. and Mrs. Bucher moved to Springfield, MO where they retired after being in the ministry over 50 years. Beatrice departed this life March 25, 2003.
Surviving is his son, Dwight E. Bucher of Springfield, MO, a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Rev. Bucher was very athletic and loved baseball, he was also an avid golfer. He had many friends and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Funeral Home-East Springfield, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Friday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery, Rogersville, MO.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Central Assembly in memory of Rev. Delbert R. Bucher.
