In Loving Memory of Della Jane Dill
Della Jane Dill, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024, at her home in Springfield, Missouri. Born on February 27, 1929, in Lebanon, Missouri, to Jessie and Ella Mae (Devore) Rogers. Della was a heartfelt soul who embraced life with love, laughter, and a spirit of adventure. She was 94 years old.
Della’s unwavering dedication to her family was her greatest joy in life. As a home maker, she poured her heart and soul into creating a warm and nurturing environment for her children. Her ten children, Nancy Ellen, Clarence David, Rozella, William Joseph, Lois Jean, Merle Ray, Marlin Eugene, Delores Marlene, Harlan Lloyd, and Lisa Marie and their families were her pride and joy. Della’s unconditional love and caring nature left an indelible mark on each of their lives, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.
Though Della’s formal education only extended through the 8th grade, she was a true testament to the power of hard work and determination. She embarked on a lifelong journey as a homemaker, dedicating herself to the well-being of her family. Della’s dedication to her role as a mother was unparalleled, providing a strong foundation for her children and teaching them the values of love, perseverance, and selflessness.
In her free time, Della found joy in simple pleasures. She loved exploring the great outdoors, attending Native American Pow Wows, and hunting for hidden treasures at local thrift shops. Her green thumb shone brightly as she tended to her vibrant rose garden, finding solace in the beauty of nature. Della also found comfort in the melodies of music, often humming along to her favorite tunes.
Della’s passing leaves behind an immense void in the lives of her loved ones. She is survived by her children, Nancy Johnson (Phillip), Clarence Dill, William Dill (Sue), Lois Lillard (Jack), Merle Dill, Delores Fosburgh, her stepdaughters, Betty Clark (Paul) and Mary Bennett, as well as her siblings Jesse, Emma, Johnny, and Jeanne. Her memory will forever be cherished by her 25 adoring grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, other family members and friends.
She was met in heaven by her parents, her husband, Clarence William Dill; two daughters, Rozella and Lisa, her sons, Marlin and Harlan; a stepdaughter, Wilma Smith; daughter-in-law, Patricia Dill; and son-in-law, Louis Fosburgh; a grandson, Adam Jay Hilburn; and four siblings, Frieda, Eva, Ruby, and Donnie.
To honor her remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on February 21, 2024, at 12:00 till 1:00 pm Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1:00 pm, celebrating the legacy of Della’s life and the profound impact she had on all those she touched. Afterwards she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Della Jane Dill, let us remember her as the compassionate, jovial, and adventurous woman she was. May her spirit forever resonate within our hearts, guiding us to love unconditionally and live each day to the fullest, just as she did.
