Delores Lavon Clear, (Dee), aged 79, passed away peacefully on February 24th, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Ethel (Campbell) and Harold Poynor on July 19, 1944, in Strafford, Missouri. Dee retired from St. John’s Hospital after 32 years of service in 2006. Delores Lavon Clear, (Dee), aged 79, passed away peacefully on February 24th, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Ethel (Campbell) and Harold Poynor on July 19, 1944, in Strafford, Missouri. Dee retired from St. John’s Hospital after 32 years of service in 2006. She was the Director of Supply Processing and Distribution. Dee found her passion in baking cakes, painting, creating flower arrangements, and bringing porcelain dolls to life with hand- made clothes. Her seamstress talents also shown in the attire she would make for family weddings. In her youth, she attended Locust Prairie School, a one- classroom building, and later enjoyed teaching Sunday school at the Pentecostal Church. She was married in 1962 in Springfield, Missouri to Donald Lee Clear, Sr who on their wedding day, pushed Dee around the Springfield Public Square in a wheelbarrow to celebrate. She was a dedicated wife to Don for forty-nine years, He preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by her children, Donald Lee Clear Jr. (Partner Alex Lewis), Diana Lynn Zapata ( Reuben), and Dee De Ellison (Kevin); Grandchildren: Brandy Holt (Adam), Nicole Zapata (Mark Lohmeyer), Yvonne Ridgely (Travis), Gabriel Zapata, Reuben Zapata, Caelyn, Ashlyn and Emmet Ellison; Great grandchildren, Brady, Luke and Abigail Holt, Jaden, Finley, and Miles Lohmeyer, Kaylee, Elijah, Kaiya, and Samuel Ridgely, and Charlie and Dovie Zapata; Siblings; Freda McBrien (Sarasota, Florida) and Alma Poynor ( Seymour, Missouri); nieces, nephews and other family, and many friends. Dee was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Roy, Frank, and Billie Poynor.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield Missouri.
