Dennis Dale Ballhorn passed away peacefully July 6th on land that he loved with his dog by his side as the meadowlarks sang in the fields.
He was born in Hartley Iowa in 1948 to Waldo and LaVonne Ballhorn. Raised in the heart of mid-western farming country in Sioux Valley Minnesota, Denny learned a love for agriculture which shaped his life from his early years in 4H to a long career in the cattle business.
Denny had many varied interests, always curious to learn something new. He had a passion for work; with an easy grace and natural talent for anything he put his hand to, earning a private pilot’s license, building homes and barns, raising cattle, as well as working in IT and the insurance industry. He was a natural go-to person for anything that needed to be fixed, built or repaired.
He was deeply committed to family, sharing his life and love with his wife Tina and four children, Jean, Seth, Paul and Ben. His big heart overflowed with love. He gave freely of himself, touching many lives with his wisdom and generosity. Every person Denny met was better off for it. As kind gentleman go, he was the definite article.
