Dennis Lynn Geren 67, Springfield, MO. was born in Springfield, MO. July 27, 1952, to Kenneth Leon Geren and Dorothy Mae (Gross) Geren, he passed away on December 14, 2019. He is survived by a daughter, Denise L. Geren, and three grandchildren: Amera, Darrik, and Alaina Rogers, one sister (or as he called her “Sissy”) Kathy Burchell, a brother, Everette and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis had many things he liked to do. He liked to go on outings with his buddy, Rick Burchell, (his brother-in-law), and his sister. He looked forward to trips to the goodie stores, and Flea Markets, trips to Walmart for sweet treats and cherry Dr. Pepper. He loved to come to his sisters house, to fish and eat good food, and hang out with them and sometimes sneak off to the casino. We always spent the holidays together with family. We had a beautiful Thanksgiving this year, he loved that. He also lived to play rummy with all his friends at Wilsons Creek, where he lived for the past 7 years plus.
He was known as the Rummy Champ. He was one of the nicest, kind hearted and polite people, you could be around. He was always giving what little he had if someone wanted it. If anyone did anything for him he would always tell you thank you and how much he appreciated it. He appreciated the little things, like just being thought of, a phone call, a visit, and being included. He also loved to spend time at Jack and Gladys house and sit on the porch and talk to them, while watching Rick mow, and he would jokingly say, “I would help if I had my work boots on” He loved to make you laugh, He was Ricks little Buddy.
He is now in death, joined with his mother Dorothy, his father Kenneth, and brother, Jimmy Geren, in heaven.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. with burial to follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
