Denver (Denny) Lee Anderson Jr., age 69, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on April 4, 2026 at home surrounded in love by his wife and three daughters. Denver was born to Denver Anderson Sr and Lelia Anderson on March 12, 1957 in Springfield, MO. He was raised in Springfield. MO and graduated from Parkview Highschool in 1975 and Southwest Missouri State University in 1996. Denver was employed as a United States Postal Service Rural Carrier for 32 years.

Denny was united in marriage to Sandra (Sandy) Anderson on August 29, 1981. Denny and Sandy shared 44 years of marriage before Denny’s untimely passing on April 4, 2026. The couple were blessed with 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many more he chose as family.

Denny had many interests, including music, hot peppers, bar-b-que, sarcasm, dad jokes, reading, model cars, HO racetracks, Nascar, baseball and football. Nothing, however, brought him more fulfillment than smoking meat for large family smokeouts. Denny will be remembered as an affectionate, caring, romantic husband, loving, adoring, protective father, a kind, funny, helpful, compassionate grandfather, a loyal and devoted friend, accepting all as they are. Everyone who knew him said he brought joy and laughter into their lives with his magnetic smile and his calming presence. Denny leaves behind a legacy of faith that was felt, not heard.

Denver was preceded in death by his parents, Denver Sr and Lelia Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Anderson, children – Bec Anderson, Cambria Bratcher (Kyle), and Marissa Griffin (Eric), grandchildren- Antigone Shadwick, Mia, Kari, and Lilly Bratcher, Kyra(Kole) and Kai Griffin, great-grandchild – Kora Steeley, brothers Kenny and Richie Osborn and best friend – Kent Hickey.

A visitation for Denny will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 6pm at Greenlawn North Funeral Home in Springfield, MO. A Celebration of Life service for Denny will be held on April 29, 2026 at 4pm at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, 818 E Norton Rd, Springfield, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Denver’s memory to Least of These food pantry in Ozark, MO or Good Samaritan Boys Ranch in Brighton, MO.
