Diana Gale Mathias, 83, Springfield, MO. passed away October 20, 2023, after a short illness. She was born on March 27, 1940, in Springfield, MO. to Joseph Ray and Leona Madeline (Shockley) Helton, She was a graduate of Central High School and she was a homemaker. Diana was a life-time member of Boulevard Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, watching her “stories” on T.V, (Soaps) walking, and spending time with her family.
On September 11, 1981, Diana was united in marriage to Harry Reid Mathias, he preceded her in death, on September 8, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leona Helton, and her brother, “Johnny” John Wesley Helton. Diana is survived by her children: Tara Gower husband, Allen, and Harry’s daughter Brenda Mathias, three grandchildren: Derik Chase and his wife, Heather, Brittney Jeffery, and Greg Jeffery and his wife, Lori, and five great-grandchildren: Alana Chase, Grant Chase, Harper Veach, Noah Jeffery, Hannah Jeffery, and Bristol Off, one brother: Vince Helton and his wife, Connie, and her sister: Liz Hardison and her husband, Randy, and her nieces and nephews: Renee Robertson, Brandon Hardiison, Kevin Helton, Kris Helton, many great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial at 1:00 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to Boulevard Baptist Church: 1030 South Eastgate, Springfield, MO. 65809
