Diane Lucille Davis, age 56, went to be with the Lord April 24, 2011. She was born in Webb City, Mo. on March 4, 1955. She later moved to Lebanon where she met her best friend and childhood sweetheart, Wendell. They married in the summer of 1973 and then moved to Springfield, Mo., their home for the next 35 years. Diane had many hobbies. She was an extremely talented cook and decorator. She had a passion for traveling. Her journeys took her all over parts of the United States, Mexico, South and Central America. While traveling, she loved scuba diving. One of her many accomplishments was diving the famous “Blue Hole” in Belize. Another accomplishment was receiving the Casa Volunteer of the Year Award in 2008 (Springfield Local Chapter) for her generosity in volunteering with troubled youth. She went on to compete for the Missouri State Volunteer of the Year in 2008. Most of all, she took great pride in spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell; daughter, Wendy; son-in-law, Matt; son, Andy; daughter-in-law, Angie; beloved grandchildren: Emma, Amelia, Davis, Ella, and (soon-to-be) Roman; mother, Mary Ann; step-father, Ward; and brother, Danny.
Diane truly cherished every moment and taught the rest of us that life isn’t about the destination, it’s about enjoying the ride. Memories of her radiance will grace us for years to come.
