Dixie Cochran Sachs, 87, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She was born September 13, 1934, in Prichard, Alabama to Jesse Voy Cochran, Sr. and Queen Martha Cochran (Stewart). She is preceded in death by her parents. Also preceded in death by her brothers Jesse V Cochran Jr. and Donald Cochran Sr.
Remembered for her southern hospitality and caring heart, Dixie hosted many functions for the church. She was licensed as a minister for the Southern Missouri District Council of the Assemblies of God in 1989. She served as the Executive Director of Women’s Ministries from 1980 to 1996. Her years of ministry included time alongside her husband, Reverend Nelson Sachs for the Southern Missouri District Council of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri and the First Assembly of God Church of Bolivar, Missouri and her late husband Reverend Don Cox at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, Florida and Cleveland, Ohio.
She is survived by her family, Aaron Sachs, Joyce Timmons and Alvin Dwain Sachs, predeceased, and six grandchildren. Also survived by her nieces and nephews Donald Cochran Jr., Randy Cochran, Rodney Cochran, Pam Roger, Adele Cochran, Denise Fisher, Stephanie House, Jesse Cochran III and Mark Cochran.
A family graveside service will be held at the Wolf Ridge Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama.
