Don Alden Grisham, of Springfield, MO., entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2021 at the age of 94. Don was born June 8, 1926, in Dade County, MO. to Forrest Oakland Grisham and Bessie Butler Grisham. Don was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area, residing the past five years at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, MO. Don served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Navy Seabee stationed on the island of Tinian. He then attended Southwest Missouri State College obtaining a Bachelor’s degree. He taught at Ash Grove School District before beginning employment at City Utilities for 27 years. He continued his work career as deputy county tax collector at the Greene County Tax Collectors office until retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Madge M. Grisham, a son, Larry Calvin Grisham, his parents, Forrest and Bessie Grisham, a sister, Betty McClelland, and a niece, Debbie McClelland Day.
He is survived by two daughters: Donna Link and husband Darrell of Mt. Vernon, MO. Diane Smith and husband Robert of Shawnee, KS. “Papa Don” is also survived by six loving grandchildren: Douglas Link and wife Staci of Lakewood CO., Donald Link and wife Rosemary of Cary, NC, Darin Link of Mt. Vernon, MO., David Link of Springfield, MO., Delaina Franklin and husband Eric of Republic, MO., Ashley Welborn and husband Lt. Col. Scott Welborn of Newport, RI. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren: Maddy, Caden, Marion, Stella, Taylor, Myka, Riley, Dexter, Dylan, Ramey, and Jackson. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Betty Jones of Everton, MO.
Nieces: Wanda Rout (Dewayne) of Springfield, MO., Pat Daniel (Chuck) of Arcola, MO., Linda Frost (Jack) of Springfield, MO. Nephews: Richard Jones of Everton, MO., Stanley Jones of Ash Grove, MO., Michael McClelland (Cheryl) of Springfield, MO. and numerous other family and friends.
Don made his choice to follow the simple teachings of Jesus, enjoying fellowship meeting in the home and stayed true to that conviction. He was a faithful and encouraging example to all who knew him. His kindness and loving care will be missed always and remembered forever.

Interment at Hampton Cemetery, Everton, MO.
