Don R Doty, age 76, of Springfield, passed away on October 31, 2023, at Maranatha Lodge. Don was born to Jack Doty and Lois Cunningham on January 5, 1947, in Springfield, MO. He was raised in Springfield and graduated from Central High School in 1965. Don was united in marriage to Velma Cardwell on June 30, 1972. Don and Velma shared 51 years of marriage before Don’s untimely passing on October 31, 2023. The couple were blessed with three children, Jennifer Huddleston, Michel Doty, and Hannah Edwards.

Don was employed as a forklift driver with Springfield Underground. When not working, he had many interests and pastimes including woodworking. Nothing, however, brought him more fulfillment then spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lois Doty; and his brothers, Ronald and Dennis Doty. He is survived by his wife, Velma Doty; children, Jennifer and Lee Huddleston, Michael and Leah Doty, and Hannah and Donald Edwards; grandchildren, Jonathan Birkinbine, Joshua Birkinbine, Dawson Huddleston, Jorden Doty, Dalton Wells, Mya Doty, Chase Hosbach, and Drennan Winder; and great-grandchildren, Jensen Doty and Shelli Doty; brother, David Doty; and two sisters, Janice Pridgen and Rhonda Blakey. He also leaves behind many cousins, neighbors, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, 1:00  pm, at the Antioch Cemetery (aka Brick Church Cemetery).

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Don Doty’s name to Passion Assembly of God’s Transformation Fund
