Don R. Evans, age 73, of Springfield, MO, went home to fish with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2016. He was born April 26, 1943, in Springfield, MO, to Harold and Kathleen (Shirk) Evans. He was a 1961 graduate of Willard High School Don was united in marriage to Sandra Squibb on June 8, 1963 in Springfield. Don Retired from Kraft Foods after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, Hot Rods and Stock Car racing with his sons. He will be remembered for his 55 Pontiac, that he enjoyed taking to car shows and cruise- ins.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Kathleen Evans. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Evans, Springfield, MO; two sons, Dwayne Evans and wife Tammy, Strafford and Craig Evans and wife Robin, Willard; one grandson, Michael Evans, Strafford, one great grandson, Tegan Evans; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
