Donald Leon Swearengin 83, Springfield, Mo. passed away March 8, 2019, at Mercy Hospital, after a long illness. He was born in Rogersville, Mo. on April 25, 1935, to Clarence Richard and Ruby Syble (Stapp) Swearengin. He was a owner-operator of a Mobile Home Moving Company for many years. Don was also a proud Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War. He also loved stock car racing, being the owner of his own car for many years, with his son Tim as the driver. In his spare time, he also loved to go fishing.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virgie, in 2011, a son, Michael Gene Mahan, and two brothers: Theo and Hubert. He is survived by four sons: Rick Mahan, Greg Mahan (Kim), Tim Swearengin (his girl-friend, Sherry), and Wayne Lewis, a daughter: Pam Linnebur (Mark), seven grandchildren: Chris, Crystal, Kevin, Mark, Nick, Scott, and Timmy, several great-grandchildren, a sister: Jean Saddler (Tom), and a sister-in-law: Pearl Swearengin.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Union Grove cemetery, Dallas county.
