Donald David Cheffey, of Springfield, MO, was born October 3, 1946, and departed this life on October 18, 2013, at the age of 67 with family and loved ones by his side.
He is survived by his 3 children: David Cheffey of Mtn. Home, Arkansas; Shelley Herrman of Ash Grove, MO; and Amanda Gray and husband, Landon, of Ozark, MO; 6 granddaughters: Skylar Herrman, Addisyn Herrman, Aaliyah Walker, Sierra Cheffey, Tiffany Cheffey and Allyson Woods. 3 brothers: Richard Cheffey and wife Janice of Nixa, MO; Jim Cheffey of Springfield, MO; and Paul Cheffey of St Charles, MO. 2 Sisters: Marcia Adney and husband John of Springfield, MO, Debbie Adney and husband Tommy of Bolivar, MO. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
Don was very fond of his dog companion named Bear, and his 3 granddogs: Leroy, Amanda and Sweet Pea. He always enjoyed when his grandkids and his grand dogs came to visit him.
Don was preceded in death by his father Paul Cheffey, mother Carrie Smith, and sister Janice Cheffey.
Don was a very talented man who loved art, woodworking, crafts, upholstery work, hunting, fishing, gardening, working on cars and just spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, MO, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation from 9:30 a.m. untill services, with burial in Clear Creek Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
