Donald Blaine Lane was born in Dallas County, Missouri on March 5, 1945.  He died at his home on September 3, 2026, surrounded by family.  He was 81 years old at the time of his passing.  

“Donnie-B” was the youngest of nine brothers and two sisters.  His youth included farm chores, football, cars that were sometimes driven too fast, and lifelong friends.  Donnie was saved as a young boy at a revival near Charity, MO.  After graduation, Donnie served his country in the U.S. Army.  Assigned as a helicopter crew chief, he flew many combat missions during the Vietnam War.  Donnie would later say that it was here where the Lord told him that his life would be dedicated to God’s service.

Donnie returned home and worked for the railroad.  He met Diana Ingram and the two married in 1968.  The same year, Donnie joined True Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and the following year, God called him to preach.  When later asked what his first sermon was “about”, Donnie said, “about 5 minutes”.  Over the next 57 years, “Bro. Donnie”, preached thousands more sermons, pastored churches across Missouri, and touched countless lives in God’s service.  He was a truly decent man and a beloved servant of God, who will be missed by all.       

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Norma Lane, two sisters, Marjorie and Carol, and brothers Harold, Russ, Bill, Perry, and Jerry.  

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diana Lane; sons—Darren Lane and wife Andrea, Joseph Lane and wife Julia; brothers Paul Lane and wife Bernice, David Lane, Lyndell Lane and wife Sue; and seven grandchildren, Kyra Lane, Ellie Murphy and husband Joshua, Karleigh Lane, Kaleb Lane, Rylee Lane, Kooper Lane and Keegan Lane.     

Visitation services will be held at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church with Bros. DeWayne Burdette and Zane Durnell officiating.  Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery in Polk, Missouri with military honors provided by the Missouri National Guard.  Playing of “Taps” will be performed by Sgt. Andrew Maroney.  Pallbearers will be Darren Lane, Joseph Lane, Michael Ingram, Daniel Ingram, Billy Kimmons and Joshua Murphy.
