He was born on January 7, 1918 in Slater, Missouri the son of Harry A. Chase and Gertrude M. Chase and passed away on August 21, 2009 at 4:30 AM at Skaggs Regional Health Center in Branson at the age of 91 years.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, LaVonne Chase, Son, Christopher and his wife Marlo of Ozark, Mo., daughter, Vicki McFarland and husband Terry of Branson, daughter, Kelly Prewitt of Branson. Two Granddaughters: Amanda Prewitt and Elizabeth (Elli) Chase, Two Grandsons, Matthew McFarland and Michael Prewitt. One sister-in-law, Barbara Chase of Kimberling City, Mo. Two special Nephews, Michael & Bill Chase. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Frank M. Chase, George William Chase, Kenneth Chase and Ralph Chase.
Don was a veteran of World War II having served 42 months on active duty with 33 of those months in the African and European Campaigns. Don retired from Western Union Telegraph Co after 35 years of employment. He was employed by and retired from Skaggs Regional Health Center in Branson.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, August 24, 2009 at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home of Branson.
