Donald Lee Auberry, age 76 of Louisburg, MO, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born October 29, 1946, in Lebanon, MO, to Richard and Ina (Tait) Auberry. He grew up in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1965.
Don married Linda Blanchard. They began their life together in Lebanon. They moved to Oregon and were blessed with three children: Douglas, Rebecca, and David. Later, he moved back to Missouri and was a produce manager at a grocery store.
Don loved working with his hands and began doing carpentry, wallpaper, and tile work. He loved to create new projects and was always very precise in his work. He continued to build many projects until his illness.
In 1988, Don met Gloria and they became best friends and soul mates. On March 18, 1989, they were married. Don became a father to Gloria’s boys, Aaron, and Joshua. This past March, Don and Gloria celebrated their anniversary of 34 years together.
Don accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at an early age. He attended Lakeside Assembly of God, in Pittsburg, MO. He was an active member and a deacon. He loved being a part of his church where everyone seemed to be like family.
Don loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and exploring every county road. He also loved to work in the yard and garden. He was a gentle giant in many children’s eyes. He would take time to show them things and let them tag a long beside him.
Don is preceded in death by his father Richard Lee Auberry; his mother Ina Marie Churchill; a brother Larry Dean Auberry; and a grandson Douglas Lee Auberry, Jr.
Don is survived by his wife Gloria Auberry of the home; five children: Douglas Auberry, Jefferson City, MO, Rebecca Auberry and Fiancé Chris Schmeets, Lebanon, MO, David and Julie James, Central Point, OR, Aaron and Jade Price, Long Prairie, MN, and Joshua and Gabrielle Price, West Haven, UT; 13 grandchildren: CJ, Stephanie, Cory, Darren, Brandilee, Trayven, Davis, Tucker, Christopher, Mickey, Ella, Wally, and Cyrus; six great grandchildren: Katlyn, Haleigh, Jaydin, Kolton, Lucy, and Maverick; a sister in law Janet Auberry, Lebanon, MO; brothers in law: Randy and Debbie Graves, Bixby, OK, and David and Terri Graves, Tulsa, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, bonus family and friends.
