Donald Lee Yates was born December 16, 1937 to Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Yates of Springfield, MO. He went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2026.
Donald is survived by his wife Naomi. They were married for more than 50 years; two daughters: Sherry Chilton of Springfield, MO., Terri Pollock of Tulsa, OK.; four grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill of Springfield, Mo.; one sister Alvenia Murray of Republic, MO.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Donald loved Gospel singing! He was one of the original members of the Watchmen Quartet. They travelled extensively throughout the Midwest for 20 years. Donald and Naomi attended Marionville Church of God. He also loved ham radio, fishing, and motorcycle riding.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Verna Yates; three brothers: Jesse, Larry, and Harvey; and one grandson, Ryan Hamlett.
Donald was a life member of VFW Post 4593 in Republic, MO. He served honorably in the US Navy. He was also a retired Greene County Deputy, where he spent 20 years. He also served the Republic Police Department for 17 years.
Donald will be missed very much.
