Donald went to his heavenly home on December 14, 2012 after a short illness. Don was born on January 21, 1928 to Mary and Fred Kleen, in Amboy, Minnesota. Don was united in marriage to Louann Mae Wojahn in June of 1955 to this Union one son, Jerry, was born and survives along with his wife, Debbie. Also surviving is a host of extended family and dear friends. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louann, his parents, Mary and Fred, brothers, Herman, Louie, Harold (Shorty), Eno and his sister, Elsie. Don was a U.S. Navy Veteran and spent most of his life as a carpenter and framer loving and taking great pride in building homes and doing things with his hands. Don also took pride in his son Jerry’s musical ability and enjoyed accompanying him to the Bruner and Ava Jam sessions where he enjoyed listening and visiting with everyone there (if it wasn’t too cold or the seat too hard). Don loved spending time with his family and friends especially attending the Kleen Family Reunion held in Rapidan, Minnesota each summer at the home of his niece, Joann. This past summer at the age of 85 years young, he experienced the thrill of going up in the skies in a parasailing plane. When he landed he exclaimed with a broad smile, “That was a bucket of chuckles.” Visitation for Don will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. with burial to follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
