Donald M. Tate, 86, previously of Galena, MO and most recently of Springfield, MO, passed away October 15, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. He was born to John Tolman and Ona Minda Tate in Atlanta, MO.
Following his graduation from University of Missouri, Don joined the Frisco Railroad in 1961, where he worked as a civil engineer for 30 years, eventually retiring from Burlington Northern Railroad.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother William Lee Tate, sister Lena Mae Russel, and brother Paul Tate.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alberta Tate; daughters Lisa and Herb Hilt, of Springfield, MO and Emily and Max Akers, of Cassville, MO; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday October 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with services immediately following. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
