Donald Thurman, 83, of Fair Grove, MO passed away Friday, March 17, 2017.
Donald was born October 13, 1933 in Cape Girardeau, Mo to Madison and Celia Thurman.
He graduated from Springfield High School (Central High School) and joined the Army where he served as an MP and was a member of the honor guard during the Korean War. Donald worked at Lily Tulip for over 40 years and was twice past Master at the Masonic Lodge 608 in Strafford, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father Herman Pax. Don is survived by his wife of 60 years Nellie, his daughter Dana Choates and her husband James Jr.; grandchildren Kody, Crystal, Corey, and Charity; his sister Ida Mae Williams and several nieces, nephews and many other family members.
Services will be at 12:30 pm Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial with full military honors will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday March 20, 2017 in the funeral home.
