Donald Ray Cochran, age 89, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away in his home on May 1, 2026. Don was born to Frank and Eula Cochran on January 17, 1937, in Brighton, MO. He was raised in Brighton and graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1955. Don was united in marriage to Donna Gazette on December 29, 1967, at the Fremont Avenue Church of God. Don and Donna shared 41 years of marriage before Donna’s passing on April 25, 2009.
Don proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. After serving, he owned and operated Cochran furniture and later his own appliance service company. For many years, he was a faithful member of the Church of God where he served in many roles including Sunday school superintendent, elder, and deacon.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his father, Frank; and his mother, Eula. He is survived by his sons Don and Brent Cochran; his daughters Debbie Douglas and Christal Cochran; and his five grandchildren Jamie, Derrick, Eliza, Tyler, and Alex.
A visitation for Don will be held on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
