Donald William Lilly, age 65, of Buffalo, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. He was born May 15, 1949, in Atwood, KS, to John and Nadine (Palmer) Lilly. He served in the United States Marine Corps, serving two tours in Vietnam. Donald spent most of his life as a rancher, he always loved to talk cattle and attend cattle sales. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and singing, but his greatest love was spending time with his grandson Donald.
He was preceded in death by his parents,John and Nadine Lilly; three brothers, Bud Lilly, Jack Lilly, and Sam Lilly; and three sisters, Mary Lilly, Lottie Rogers, and Marion Lilly. He is survived by his nephew, Michael Duane Rogers, Springfield, MO;his loving partner of twenty years,Connie Kay Hill; one grandson, Donald Keith Moore; two sisters, Linda Gonzalaz and husband Richard of Dallas, TX and Nita Lilly of Dallas, TX; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Temple Baptist Church, Springfield, MO with Pastor Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
