Donna Jean “Jeannie” Smith passed away peacefully on December 4, 2017 in Laurie, MO.
She was born to Riley and Eva Burtin on May 3, 1929 in Windyville, MO. She lived and grew up in Windyville later moving to Springfield, MO where she resided until 2016. There she met her husband, Harold S. Smith and raised her children and enjoyed supporting them in their many activities. She had a strong faith and loved being a member of Parkview Christian Church.
Jeannie will always be remembered for her outgoing personality, sharp mind and sense of humor.
Always positive and willing to help anyone, Jeannie’s loving presence will be missed by many.
The youngest of eleven children, which all preceded her in death, Essie, Ernie, Hobart, Edgar “Bob”,
Gussie, Arlie, Leland “Red”, Paul, Donald and Neal. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Smith and her parents Riley and Eva Burtin.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Smith of Dallas, TX and her son and daughter in law, Hal and Peggy Smith of Osage Beach, MO, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
You are invited to attend a celebration of Jeannie’s life on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Greenlawn South, 441 W. Battlefield in Springfield, MO. Visitation will be at noon, service at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn North Mausoleum immediately following the service.
