Doreen Phylis (MacBride) Fishburn was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 4, 2023. She was born on February 28, 1928, in Wichita, KS, to Allen and Gladys Madiline (Bennett) MacBride.
Doreen lived many years in Colorado before moving to Missouri. She was a very talented artist, and spent many hours painting and drawing, creating many beautiful works of art that are enjoyed by many people. She worked at SBU for several years before retiring. After retirement Doreen traveled with her husband Merrill. After his passing she moved back to Bolivar to be near family.
Doreen was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Jeannie Hines; a daughter Debbie Brandt; and her husband Merrill Fishburn.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl and husband Eddie Dickenson of Preston, MO; sons: Steve Brandt of Canon City, CO, and John and wife Roberta Fishburn of Flemington, MO; step daughters: Marsha Woods of Iowa and Melinda and husband Dave Christensen of Oregon; nine grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren; as well as several other relatives and friends.
According to Doreen’s wishes her body will be cremated and inurnment will take place in Colorado at a later date. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
