Dorethea Jean Jacobson, age 81, of Springfield, MO, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. She was born January 4, 1932, in Wright County, MO, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Long) Sparks. Dorethea and her husband Dairy farmed for over 45 years. She enjoyed working on the farm, planting flowers, and taking care of her family.She was preceded in death by her parents,Joseph Jackson Sparks and Elizabeth Broyles,one daughter Sharon Jacobson, and one infant daughter. She is survived by her husband, Allen Brooks Jacobson Jr.; two sons,Jimmy Allen Jacobson and Jack Brooks Jacobson and wife Darlene, all of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Jeff Jacobson, Jason Jacobson, Shanna and husband John Nelson, Justin Jacobson, Bethany Jacobson, Nicholas Jacobson,and Allee Jacobson;three great-grandchildren, Kenny Peak, Johnathan Peak, and Jackson Jacobson;three sisters, Marie, Alice, and Mary; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Green Mountain Cemetery, Mountain Grove, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
