Doris Francis Wagner, age 80, passed away Saturday, January 1st, 2022, at The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek, Springfield, MO.
Doris was born May 16, 1941, in Ninnekah, OK, the daughter of John and Eunice Hayes. She was a graduate of Ninnekah High School and Chickasha Women’s College, Chickasha, OK. She was united in marriage to Thomas Edward Wagner, on October 20, 1976, in Rolla, MO. Doris and Thomas owned and operated Wagner Roofing Inc.
Doris took pride in being able to feed her family fresh vegetables from her garden throughout the year. She was an avid quilter, who won numerous awards for her quilts. Doris made hundreds of out fits for the children of Uganda. She was active with the Rosebud Sioux tribe, donating her time and talents for the benefit of the Elders program. She was proud of her Chickasha heritage and culture.
Survivors include her daughter, Natasha Wagner of Springfield; one grandson, Jarred Dingley; two sisters, Meta Hayes and Ida Adams; and a host of family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Wagner; parents, John and Eunice Hayes; and one brother, John Hayes.
The family will receive friends from 1pm – 2pm, Friday, January 7, 2022, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. A celebration of Doris’ life will be held Friday, January 7th, 2022, at 2:00pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Memorial contributions may be made in Doris’ name to the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Elder’s program.
