Doris Lee Ingram was born on October 8, 1936 in Louisburg, MO to Bob and Nina (Davison) Booth, by the age of six Doris could no longer walk or talk. Doris had brain surgery at the age of six. The surgery removed a large benign tumor which was attached to the cerebellum. This surgery was performed in St Louis before this type of surgery was commonplace. Everyone considered Doris a miracle child.
Doris attended School in Louisburg MO and graduated in 1954 from Buffalo High School. Doris and Stanley Ingram were married January 20,1955 in Montevallo. They had two children, Mark born October 18, 1955 and Michael born October 2, 1959.
Doris and Stan were members of Boulevard Baptist Church in the early 1960s and later moved their membership to Lone Star Baptist Church in 1998.
In the 1970s Doris started her position as a nursing assistant at Cox hospital. She continued her employment there for 14 years then left to care for her precious boys. She was a loving mother and active in her church.
Doris was proceeded in death by Stanley in 2003, her mother Nina in 1992 and her father in 2001. She is survived by her two sons, Mark Stephen (Teresa) and Michael Wayne (Star). She is also blessed to have three granddaughters Terra Star Ingram, Rachel (David) Nicole Wolfrath and Cassandra (Kurt) Lee Jennings. She has five great-grandchildren; Isabella, Isaac, Hannah, Colton, and Kaylee.
Doris lost her mobility but continued to live life to the fullest. Doris was an inspiration to many even as her health deteriorated. Doris passed away on March 29, 2023 at Brookhaven Nursing and Rehab in Springfield. She will be sadly missed by all. We look forward to seeing her again someday.
