Dorothy “Dot” Tomlinson, 92, of Springfield died peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in her sleep. Dorothy “Dot” Tomlinson, 92, of Springfield died peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in her sleep. Dorothy was born February 4, 1917, in Long Island, N.Y., the oldest of two daughters born to Frederick and Grace Lehman. Dorothy was a resident of Springfield for 13 years. She was preceded in death by her sister, Edythe; and one son, Edward Jr. She is survived by her husband, Edward, of 53 years; eight children, Valerie Giarusso, Wayne White, Dana White, Bettina White, Cynthia Billings, Tracy Tomlinson, Frederick Tomlinson and Grace Tomlinson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a good role model as a mother and wife. We love and miss you Mom, the Tomlinson family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami FL 33136-1494.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 9:00 am at Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
