Dorothy Evon Young, 87, of Springfield, MO., passed away Saturday, August 19, 2011. Born on December 1, 1923, in Elkland, MO, Dorothy was the only child of Andrew and Flossie (Reaves) Hicks. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Acquilla Young, and an infant daughter.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dianna K. Brinker and son-in-law Michael W. Manley of Springfield, her son, David A. Young of Independence, MO, grandchildren Adam Young and Megan Young of Independence, MO.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2011, at Brookline Cemetery with the Pastor Kevin N. Carson, D.Min. officiating.
Services are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, MO.
