Dorothy “Jean” Fellin of Springfield passed away Sunday October 13, 2013. Jean was born to B.J. Buford & Myrtle (McKinney) Buford February 11, 1921 in Gurley, AL. She grew up in Huntsville AL.Jean worked prior to meeting her husband, in Washington, DC as a secretary at the Pentegon. Later she moved to Memphis, TN. and worked in the post office. Dorothy “Jean” Fellin of Springfield passed away Sunday October 13, 2013. Jean was born to B.J. Buford & Myrtle (McKinney) Buford February 11, 1921 in Gurley, AL. She grew up in Huntsville AL.Jean worked prior to meeting her husband, in Washington, DC as a secretary at the Pentegon. Later she moved to Memphis, TN. and worked in the post office. In Memphis she met Edward Fellin and they were united in marriage. Ed had a son, John and a daughter Judy from a previous union and their mother passed away. To this union with Jean, Nancy (Fellin) Hill was born.
Jean is survived by Nancy and Tim Hill of Springfield, John Fellin of Springfield, 3 grandchildren: Dale, Christy, & JP and 4 great-grandchildren. Judy and Windol Fiveash of Kosciusco, MS, 3 grandchildren: Vicky, David, and Connie and 5 great-grandchildren along with 3 great-great grandchildren.
THe family would like to thank her caregiver Jewell Freeman for her many years of service.
There is no memorial service planed at this time, Dorothy has been cremated under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
