Dorothy Lee (Cahow) Wilson was born February 14, 1949, in Wheatland, Missouri. She was the youngest of nine children of Dee and Edna (Price) Cahow. She departed this life surrounded by her family on September 17, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, after a long illness.
She attended church regularly while growing up and enjoyed Sunday school at Galmey Community Church. She also attended youth rallies on a regular basis. As an adult, she was saved and baptized at Brighton Baptist Church.
She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1967 and attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. She held various occupations, most notably owning and operating a daycare in Humansville, Missouri, for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Wilson; her parents, Dee and Edna (Price) Cahow; and her siblings Betty Floyd, John Cahow, Harold Cahow, Mildred Huff, and Linda Sullens.
She is survived by her son, Chad Cahow, and his wife Michelle, of Bolivar, Missouri; her siblings Vera Jacobson and James Cahow, both of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Louise Mourton of Springfield, Missouri; her grandchildren Myriah Gideon (David) and Cody Burrow; her great-granddaughters Esther and Ella Dickerson; and her great-grandson Branden Gideon. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
