Dorothy Marie Anderson, age 87, passed away on December 30, 2015. Dorothy was born on Feb. 8, 1928 in Polk County, MO to Stillman Curtis “Pete” Brown and Beulah Edith “Edie” Ashlock Brown. She was married to Harold “Andy” Anderson and to this union came 3 children: Jimmie, Alice and Dennis.
Dorothy has been a member of South Side Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was nursery superintendent for over 3 decades. She spent a lot of time reading her Bible and praying and she could grow the BEST tomatoes you ever eat. She also loved gospel and bluegrass music.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Maurice Norman. She is survived by her children, Jimmie (Janiece) Anderson, Alice (Jim) Spackman and Dennis Anderson, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 1 sister Dorlis Anderson and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
