Our dear sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend Dorothy Wilken passed away at the age of 97 on July 9, 2022 at 6:20 in the evening after a long and full life. Dorothy touched many lives along the way. She was a sister to 12 siblings. Many of whom felt like she was a mother because of the way she took care of them and touched their lives. She had three children who loved their mother dearly. Dorothy was a grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and cousin to too many to count but not too many to love. She saw them all and cared for each in a special way.
Dorothy accomplished big things with little early education behind her but went on to graduate from beauty college which was a lifelong dream. She owned and operated her own shop in her home so she could manage the house and the shop at the same time. She made so many clients beautiful on the outside and at the same time encouraged them on the inside while they sat in her shop.
Dorothy was talented in so many ways. She sang, danced, taught Sunday school, brought old dolls back to life with new outfits and hair, made new dolls with fun personalities, sewed beautiful wedding dresses, had an amazing green thumb, was an excellent cook, wrote letters from a dog, and was a prayer warrior for all those she loved.
She is survived by her three children Linda Snow, Glenda Robertson, and Gary Morgan along with their spouses Junior Snow and Mike Robertson; 3 brothers Ellis, Lowell, and Bill with their spouses Trudie, Betty, and Jan; 4 sisters Carol, Ann, Jeanie, and Fern with their spouses Chuck, Tom, and Elwin; 10 grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren galore.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Bryan Snow and many others she loved and held dear to her heart.
