Douglas Mark Owen, born November 10, 1950, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2026. A lifelong resident of Battlefield, Missouri, Doug graduated from Republic High School in 1969 before earning his degree in Industrial Technology from Southwest Missouri State (SMS). On June 16, 1974 Doug married the love of his life Judy Lynn (Todhunter) and were happily married for 52 years. Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years. Throughout his professional life, he was a dedicated worker, spending time at Freeman’s Men’s Store on Parkcrest and Springday Manufacturing before eventually retiring from Paul Mueller Company. Outside of work, Doug had a deep passion for genealogy, spending countless hours uncovering family history and connections. His commitment to his community was evident through his service on the Patterson Cemetery Board and his many years as president of Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Greene County. When he wasn’t working, Doug found great joy on the farm, where he was known for the exceptional care he gave to his cattle, equipment, and land. Above all else, Doug lived a principled life, guided faithfully by the Ten Commandments. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Virginia Owen, and his parents-in-law, Jim and Adalee Todhunter. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his sister, two brothers, and brother-in-law, Steve Todhunter; his nieces and nephews: Monica Meador (Adam), Adam Owen (Kayla), Matt Owen (Margo), and Casey Owen (Stephanie); and his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews: Keyton Meador, Jaymin Meador, Kanton Owen, Blayne Owen, Kopelyn Owen, Maverick Owen, and Walter Owen. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m to 12:00pm on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. The family has requested that you come as you are and as Doug would say “it is not a fashion show”. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in his honor.
