Dove Athena Hostetler was born October 4th, 2025 at 1:43 AM at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to Trey and Allison Hostetler. She was welcomed by two very excited siblings Hawk Wilder, age 5 and Skye Aeress age 2. Our sweet little Dove went to be with Jesus on February 1st, 2026 at the age of 3 months and 28 days after battling a bowel infection. She was welcomed into heaven by the arms of Jesus, alongside her cousins Taylor, Alivia, Kourage, and her aunt Allison. At just 22 weeks of pregnancy, Trey and Allison received the diagnosis of NPHP3 — an extremely rare and often fatal condition. Faced with unimaginable uncertainty, they chose hope over fear, placing their faith in God and in the possibility of a miracle. They pursued fetal amino infusions to help Dove’s lungs develop which proved to be successful. Dove was born with a healthy set of lungs, breathing and crying on her own. Soon after birth, Dove was transferred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where she spent the remainder of her life. At just 3 days old, she underwent her first surgery to place hemodialysis catheters, with the second surgery following only 4 days later. After going through many successful dialysis treatments, complications ultimately led to her third surgery at only 16 days old.
On October 27, Dove fell sick to a suspected infection which led the doctors to discover she had a heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Trey’s were told she will now need a heart transplant as well as a kidney transplant. Dove proved to be a fighter as she continued to go on and fight off two more serious infections. On January 21, Dove once again became gravely ill from a serious bowel infection. For 11 days, doctors and nurses fought tirelessly to help her recover, doing everything within their power, including an emergency bedside surgery. Yet, even in the midst of that fight, Jesus came for her and carried her home. Dove’s final days were wrapped in love. Her little sister Skye sang her sweet songs, while her big brother Hawk prayed over her, fiercely protective and full of devotion. Mama read her stories and never left her side, tending to her every need with endless care. She knew only love in this world, and her father — her fiercest protector — never once hesitated to give her everything she needed, devoting every breath and every moment to her care and her fight.
We believe that Dove’s life was always meant to leave an impact. Her purpose was to bring everyone she encountered closer to God. In her short time with us, she strengthened our faith, reminded us of what truly matters, and fulfilled her mission beautifully. She brought immeasurable joy, boundless love, and a light that will forever live on in our hearts.

Our deepest gratitude to our incredible, selfless parents Bob, Emily, and Laureen — who made countless sacrifices, spending many weeks away from home to be with us. Their unwavering support became a foundation of hope and strength during the hardest days. And thank you to all of our friends and family who have been there for us over the last seven months, covering us in prayer and blessing us with actions and kind words. Above all, we thank and praise God for every miracle, both seen and unseen, from before she took her first breath to the moment He held her in His arms.
A celebration honoring Dove’s life will be at 1:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2026 at Hope Church. Interment will follow at Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Hope Church.
