Doyle J. Jones, 87, of Springfield, MO. passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at home. Doyle was born in Steelville, MO. Doyle married June Day Jones in 1954 at United Methodist Church, Advance, MO. Doyle graduated from Steelville High School, Southwest Baptist Bolivar, and served in U.S. Navy during WWII. Doyle worked 30 years for Missouri Highway and Transportation Department, retiring Feb 1, 1988. Doyle was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Doyle’s hobbies were, Fox News, Inspirational Television, traveling with his wife in their motor home, camping with his children and grandchildren on Table Rock Lake.
Doyle was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by wife, June D. Jones, children Debra Jones Maudlin, David Jones, Danny Jones and wife Pamela. Special friend, Dwight Maudlin. 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother, Bill Z. Jones and Delores of Maryland Heights, MO., and sister Alma Edgar of St. James, MO., many nieces and nephews.
Services for Doyle will be Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 12:30 prior to service. Burial in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
