Dwight Anderson Hughes, 78, Willard, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mount Vernon.
He was born April 12, 1933, in Willard, to Hobert and Lillie (Anderson) Hughes. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Dwight was an avid fisherman and he loved being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Juanita Gay Hughes and Corinne Elizabeth Perryman.
He is survived by two sisters, Alice and Neal Stehle, Springfield, and Helen Guynn, Rogersville; and two brothers, Leo and Norma Hughes, Willard, and Leslie and Betty Hughes, Springfield. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 14, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, with Rev. Calvin Maberry officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, near Willard. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
