Mr. Earl Dale Breshears, passed away Saturday August 1, 2009. He was born December 30, 1928 in Goodson, MO to Fred Vale and Emma Catherine Vincent Breshears, the youngest of five children. Earl was united in marriage to Shirley Frances Gunderson on September 29, 1950 and to this union three children were born.
Earl was a baptized member of the Church of Jesus Christ Cross Timbers Restoration Branch. Earl served his country as a cook, in the US Army, during the Korean War. Earl lived most of his life on the farm in Goodson, MO, milking Jersey cows, raising Simmental cattle and farming. For 42 years Earl was on over the road truck driver hauling furniture. For 26 of those years he and Shirley operated Breshears Moving and Storage until their retirement.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley Breshears;two brothers Elva Breshears and Glen Breshears; one sister Eva Hinkle; one son-in-law Eddie Smith and one infant grandson Joshua David Smith.
He is survived by his children Donna Patterson and her husband Doug of Buffalo, MO; E. Dale Breshears and his wife Cathy of Sibley, MO;LuAnn Smith of Tunas, MO; his grandchildren Diana Patterson of Bolivar, David Patterson and wife Ronda of Buffalo; Brent Breshears and companion Cori of Springfield; Chris Breshears of Fair Grove; Branden Smith and companion Brittni of Buffalo; Karens Smith of Marshfield, MO; one step grandson Johnny Rogers of Fair Grove, MO; one great granddaughter Aubrey Smith of Buffalo; one sister Evelyn Faulkner of Kansas City, MO’ brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marvin and Melda Brock of Cross Timbers, MO; sister-in-law Edna Gunderson of Texas and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relative and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Earl D. Breshears will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 4, 2009, in Pitts Chapel. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Gardens, Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held Monday, August 3, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes Bolivar, MO.
