Earl Floyd Barnett, Jr., age 88, of Strafford, passed away on September 16, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born to Earl Floyd Barnett, Sr. and Dorothy (Johnson) Barnett on June 11, 1934, in Thayer, Missouri.  He was united in marriage to Frances (Collins) Barnett on August 18, 1951.  For many years, Earl was a self-employed entrepreneur in the Springfield area.  He loved to hunt and fish, restore tractors, and listen to classic country music.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances, his son Randy, and his sister Ruth Freeman.  He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Nelson and Sandy Appleby; his son, Terry Barnett; his sister, Betty Baker; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation for Earl will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 12:00-1:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. His funeral service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North immediately following the visitation at 1:00pm.  Earl will be laid to rest next to his wife and son at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Earl’s name to the Church of Webster Park at 2727 East Division Street in Springfield.
