Eddie Joe Morris, the son of Walter Marshall and Verda Jane was born on December 7, 1946. He passed from this life on Friday, September 7, 2018. Preceding him in death were his parent's, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and a granddaughter. He is loved and missed by his wife of 48 years, Lydia Kay; his son John and his girlfriend Keli; his daughter Lorie and son in law Chris; granddaughters Casey and Rebecca; brother JR; sisters, Carolyn Jo and Linda Kay, cousin Charlie; and numerous extended family and friends.
1946 – 2018, 71 years of stories and adventures. Eddie was a survivor from the start; from escaping a house fire when he was just days old, falling off a horse and breaking a leg, to beating throat cancer – he fought through it all, with a smile.
Spend time with Eddie and you would hear stories from his youth and terrorizing the town with his brothers, the first time he met his wife, Kay to seeing John and Lorie grow up. Without a doubt, Eddie loved life; but most of all he loved his wife, kids and grandkids.
Eddie worked in construction, including helping with the Truman dam. He also drove a tow truck, and in retirement mowed yards. He even babysat to help people out.
Helping people became a trademark for Eddie. He would give strangers a lift, give change to people in need. He was the friend that would drop what he was doing to help people in need.
Eddie's other interest were hunting, fishing, growing tomatoes, going to the casino and on Monday and Tuesday nights, wrestling would be on TV.
It is hard to summarize 71 years in a few sentences. Sometimes stubborn, usually smiling. Perhaps the best way:
