Edgar Eugene Hunt, age 73, of Tyler, TX, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Providence Park Rehab and Skilled Care. He was born May 29, 1937, in Marshfield, MO, to Edgar and Jessie (Osborne) Hunt. Gene worked for A and P and Consumers as a meat cutter. He was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union . Gene enjoyed stamp and sports card collecting, enjoyed N.A.S.C.A.R. he raced for several years in Springfield in the 1960’s, and was an avid Kansas City Cheifs fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar Elbert and Jessie Irene Hunt . He is survived by his wife of fifty two years Carole Hunt of Tyler, TX,three children Danny Hunt and wife Robyn of Springfield, Vicki Best and husband Mike of Tyler Texas, and Craig Hunt of Tyler Texas, seven grandchildren, Mistie and Jason Soward, Shanna Best, Brittany Hunt, Jessica Hunt, Zachary Hunt and Rebecca Hunt, one brother Dean Hunt and wife Opal of Springfield, and one sister Zola LeMiux of the state of Michigan, Mother in Law Helen Montgomery of Springfield, five sister in laws and one brother in law.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Pastor Lew Cort officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North .Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
