Edna ‘Elenora’ (Burk) Schnelle, age 90, of Springfield, Mo., passed away at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Webco Manor in Marshfield, Mo.
Elenora was born July 2, 1922 in Marionville, Mo. to Henry Oliver and Bertha Areta (Head) Burk. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Charles Edward Burk and Joseph Henry Burk. She graduated from Marionville High School in 1940, then attended Draughon’s Business College in Springfield. Elenora worked at Juvenile Shoe in Aurora as an office worker 27 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of First Christian Church in Aurora for many years, and had been a member of Brentwood Christian Church since 1985.
Elenora married Charles Wayne Schnelle February 14, 1947, and he preceded her in death August 12, 2002. Survivors include two daughters: Karen Florup (& Norm) of Grapevine, Texas, and Rita Fanning (& Jim) of Marshfield; two grandchildren: Gabriel Fanning (& Jordan) of Fort Rucker, Alabama, and Marlea Fanning of Springfield; a great grandaughter: Isabel Fanning of Fort Rucker, Alabama; a sister-in-law: Jo Burk of Marionville; and many other relatives.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Mo. with Rev. Charles Bahn officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield.
