Edna Louise Lawson, 74, went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2026. Born in Ozark, Missouri, to Ed and Eva Garrison, Edna grew up in Ava, graduating from Ava High School in 1969. She later attended Draughon’s Business College in Springfield. She spent many years caring for others in healthcare before retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield after 20+ years of service.
Faith was the center of Edna’s life. She loved her Wesley United Methodist Church family and could always be found in Sunday school, Bible study, or serving at church events. Her friends there were dear to her heart.
To her family, Edna was “Mimi” — the rock everyone leaned on. Her love, strength, and prayers carried us all.
She now joins in Heaven her children Stacey and Bradley; her parents Ed and Eva; sisters Mary, Clarice, and Joyce; Brothers in Law, Robert and Steve; nieces Julie, Amy, and Michelle; and nephews Rex and Bobby.
Carrying her memory forward are her son Dustin and wife Sarah; daughter Kristen and husband Bryan; grandchildren Deanna (Tony), Riley , Emily “Bre”, Jacob, and Stephen; great-grandchildren Aria, Maia, Athena, Thalia, Tucker, Caroline, and Nina; brother J.R. (Pam); sister Jan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 922 W Republic Road, Springfield, MO 65807 on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 2:00 with services immediately following at 3:00. Graveside services following the service will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
