Ed worked at Reckitt Benckizer for 4 years preceding the battle with myxoid liposarcoma that eventually took his body. Ed and Rhonda had been married for 11 years on 7/11/12 during which time Ed’s main occupation was being Mr. Mom to his two angel girls Hannah and Abby. He was amazing at instilling into them the LOVE and GRACE of The Lord as well as how to enjoy life and to live every minute to the fullest. Ed and Rhonda were brought together by God Himself after each of them separately surrendered their hearts and lives completely to God’s will in “the search” for the one that would be the love of their life. Ed was sent out by Jesse Duplantis whom he had served for 4 years in ministry in New Orleans and moved to Missouri in April of 2001.
Ed loved to help others. He was the most unselfish person and would give up anything he had if he knew someone else needed or wanted it, anything from money to his clothes to his ice cream (sometimes). He was an unending source for anyone who wanted to know anything about what The Bible said about just about any subject. Rhonda called him her “walking bible”. He touched and taught innumerable people things in The Word that The Lord had shown him in a different light than people had ever heard.
His favorite thing to do was on weekends to take his wife and girls on their Family Day Out. They made many memories and started traditions that will be carried on for life. His favorite pastime was gaming. He loved having his friends over to just hang out and play. His favorite gaming buddies were Aaron, Brandon, Joshua, Dakota, and Ryan.
In the beginning and in the end, there is only one phrase to describe Ed Cahill…he was on earth and now is experiencing the Glory of Heaven as a MAN OF GOD AFTER GOD’S HEART. He will be missed greatly by everyone he knew and touched. I love you my Angelboy, Love Rhonda.
A special thank you to Mercy Hospital and staff that were involved in our stay for the exceptional care, concern, loving hearts, and going above and beyond to help us make memories that will be cherished for life.
