Edwin C. (Ed) Looney, 83, of Springfield, left this life to meet our Lord, Savior and Creator on April 16, 2013. Ed was born to Roy and Ruby Looney on July 5, 1929 in Springfield.
Ed graduated from Republic High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ed married Velma Steere in Springfield, Missouri. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, where he was a faithful deacon and servant.
He was preceded in death by his wife Velma; his parents; one infant brother; and brothers Richard and James Looney.
He is survived by his sister, Pat Northcutt; two sisters in law, Mary Hunt and Wanda Looney; two nephews; six nieces; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be at 10:00 am on April 20, 2013, at Springhill Baptist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm April 19, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Springhill Baptist Church building fund.
