Effie K. Cox passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in Springfield, MO. She was born July 28, 1919 in Springfield, the daughter of William V. and Eva (Barbarick) Branson.
Effie worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Lloyd Frankenfield for 25 years and volunteered at St. John’s Hospital for 17 years. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eugene D. Cox, in 2001. Effie is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Kathy and David Nelson and Joey and Robert Southall; five grandchildren; nine great granddaughters; ten great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 3-5 PM in the Greenlawn Funeral Home North Chapel. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 2 PM in Brookline Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
