Eleanor L. Harris, age 80, of Springfield, MO, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 in her home surrounded by family. She was born May 28, 1933, in Ottawa, KS, to Charles and Edna (Marks) Dawson. She was united in marriage to Paul C. Harris on April 5, 1985 in Belton Missouri. Eleanor received Associates degrees in Secretarial and Medical Transcription. She spent most of her working career as an executive secretary for several companies, she retired as a secretary with Cox Medical Center South in 2012.
Shewas preceded in death by her parents,Charles T. and Edna Dawson.
She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-nine years,Paul C. Harris of the home; daughter, Karen Kessler of Westminster CO; two brothers, Allen Dawson and William Dawson; two sisters, Mary Gast and Barbara Vollmer and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in May in Ottawa KS. Cremation services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Kinser Chapel, 3871 South State Highway J, Springfield, MO 65809, in Eleanor’s name.
