Eleanor E. Parry, born June 25, 1916 in Washington D.C., went to be with Christ October 16, 2010.
She was a member of Central Assembly of God church for many years an a highly successful teacher and Christian role model.
She is survived by one sister, Ruth Parry Tucker of Houghton, N.Y., nephews, William Richardson and Frank Tucker, and nieces Mary E. Phillips, Sylvia Christopher, Sharon Abra, Sue Peraino, and Sandra Whitener O’Guinn, numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews, foster children (one of whom changed his name from Victor Contreras to Louis Alexander Parry), those who called her “Mom” and many hundreds of close friends across the nation. She was preceded in death by her parents, William M. and Mary Neff Parry and sister Louise Parry Richardson.
Miss Parry was a graduate of Central Bible Institute, Springfield, Mo. Other degrees were as follows: B.A. from Taylor University, 1941; M.A., George Washington University, 1950; and M.S.L.S., Catholic University of America, 1959. She was a teacher and Library Director at Central Bible College, Reference Librarian at Evangel College and Library Director at the A/G Graduate School. She was a life member of the Association of Christian Librarians and a member of Beta Phi Mu, Library Honor Society of Florida State University.
The visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:30 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North and the service will be at Maranatha Chapel on Norton Road on Thursday at 3:00 P.M., with another visitation preceding it from 2:00-3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the William and Mary Parry Scholarship at Central Bible College, Springfield, Mo.
